Sofia Gelsomini was born in Rovigo on 23/01/1995.
She began playing at the age of 3 and She graduated at the age of 16 with the highest honors at the Institute of Music “O. Vecchi – Tonelli ” in Modena with Ivan Rabaglia.
Sofia held her first recital at the age of 6 and played the J. S. Bach Concert in A minor with Conservatory Orchestra of Rovigo.
She has been called “Pearl” by M. Boris Petrushansky.

She has attended various masterclasses and Courses International with prestigious teachers: Marco Fornaciari, Beatrice Antonioni, Marius Cristescu, Marco Rogliano, Dora Schwarzberg, Ettore Pellegrino, Ivan Rabaglia, Dimitri Berlinsky, Massimiliano Mainolfi.
She attended the Course of specialization at the Academy Foundation “STAUFFER”and the Academy “Chigiana” with Salvatore Accardo.

Sofia is considered one of the most promising students of Ilya Grubert.
Follows the course of advanced specialization in chamber music at the “International Chamber Music Academy” Duino with Trio di Parma getting Scholarship “Bruno Premuda” best group attending the class of the Trio di Parma with pianist Alberto Tessarotto .

Sofia debuted with the Beethoven Triple Concert at Carl Orff Saal at the Theater Gasteig in Monaco of Baviera with the pianist Massimiliano Mainolfi and cellist Mattia Zappa, under the direction of Bernhard Tluck accompanied by Kammer Orchester Die Zarge.

She is the ABSOLUTE WINNER in numerous National and International Competitions:
-Absolute Winner of the National Competition “Premio Nazionale delle Arti” organized by the Ministry of Education, University and Research;
-Absolute Winner of the XVI Musical Review Best Graduates of Italy “CASTROCARO CLASSIC” for which she recorded a CD in the journal “SuonareNews”.
-Twice Absolute Winner at the International Competition “GEORGE GEORGESCU” in Tulcea, Romania;
– Absolute Winner of the International Competition “SALIERI” in Legnago with score 100/100 and with honorable mention for the best performance of Ravel’s Tzigane;
-Absolute Winner at the International Competition “NUOVI ORIZZONTI” with score 100/100 and where she got the special prize of the Public;
-Absolute Winner at the “RIVIERA ETRUSCA”, where she gets a score of 100/100 and she gets the special prize of the public;
– Absolute Winner at the International Competition “RIVIERA DELLA VERSILIA”;
-Absolute Winner at the “ANTONIO ZAMPARO” as Best student of the Conservatory “O. Vecchi-Tonelli” in Modena;
-Absolute Winner at the International Competition “A. SPINCICH” in Trieste.
-Multiple winner scholarship in the competition “Welcome to Vittorio Veneto”and“Bruno Zanella”(BO);

She has already had several recitals in Italy and in Europe: Ravello Festival, Sala Scarlatti-Naples, Portogruaro Festival, Altolivenza Festival, Paris at the Italian Cultural Institute, Academy Chigiana-Siena, Cremona Mondo Musica, Metropolitan- Piombino, Salone degli Affreschi-Milan, Tulcea Festival- Romania, Temporary Concert Hall- L’Aquila, Auditorium Museum Revoltella-Trieste, Circle of Equipment-Torino, Società Umanitaria, Gasteig-Carl Orff Saal-Monaco and many others.

Sofia will play in the legendary Carnegie Hall in New York on May 25-2015.
